The meeting ( of an entity with infinity) in “limes” (a border as a line) is subjected to the effect of both a repulsive lack of relation ( vis repulsiva) and a decisive power of attraction ( vis attractiva).
“Limes” that is placed between repulsion and attraction characterises itself with a constant fluency ( fluxus continuus) of a multi-layer modulation record. The process of a steady flow takes place in the spherical area covering “ a higher ending” ( acc. to Hegel – “an ending” as a higher form of art), where the aesthetic values of what is non-presentable, ideal, disembodied and unconscious, materialise themselves in the relation occurring between a form, light and texture. This “polyphony” ( Roman Ingarden) of fluent forms of expression presents a “limes” as a border (περας, Hegel) of transition (μεταβασις), which is described in the continuum of becoming and transience as “aestheticus limes “.
Adopting the assumptions of the Aristotle’s science on the continuity of a line R.J. A circle is a curved line that by means of its plasticity and power of attraction enables a circular structure of a discourse with other media[ „ cosmic openness” of a discourse about the amphitheatre of Vilém Flusser ]. The concept „attractio circuli“ constitutes a smooth transition from the concept of “iconic continuum to the concept of the continuation of the continuum (continuitas continui), and by leaving the boundaries of its own language, it creates unlimited (ἄπειρον) possibilities of putting into existence this what is new. In the relationship “ similar-different” , this is just “attraction circuli” that constitutes the Ingarden’s “ place of non-description”, which at the moment of its receptive and aesthetic instantiation becomes a “ point of exit of productive activity” (R.I.). A circle [circulus]of artists and professorsof Jan Długosz Academy in Częstochowa: Włodzimierz Karankiewicz, Beata Bebel-Karankiewicz, Bartosz Frączek, Jarosław Kweclich, Jacek Łydżba along with a sculptorRobert Puczyński and a Croatian artist Barbara Raič maintaining and postulating the continuity of[substratesunderpiece]of continuum brought about the cyclicality of the “infinite continuum”.
The openness of [infinite] continuum ontoa multi-dimensional plasticity of [„ lines and points“] enables the transition to the „attractio-circuli“ model, where the horizons of various media meet and join each other.

Božo Raič

This exhibition is a result of collaboration between Faculty of Arts Jan Dlugosz University in Częstochowa and Croatian Association of Artists.
Exhibition is kindly supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and City Office for Education, Culture and Sport Zagreb.

ATTRACTIO CIRCULI
6.9. – 22.9.2013.

Opening of the exhibition on September 6th 2013 at 7 pm.
Ring Gallery
Trg žrtava fašizma 16, 10000 Zagreb

[7
