VARIATIONS ON SENSITIVE<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are inviting you to the performances titled VARIATIONS ON SENSITIVE<\/strong> that will take place on the 12th<\/sup> of June starting at 17:00 h and on the 14th<\/sup> of June starting at 18 h, Ba\u010dva Gallery, House of HDLU in Zagreb<\/strong>, in the frame of Danceweek Festival<\/strong> and in the frame of philosophy symposium Poiesis<\/strong> <\/i>organised by Multimedia Institute in Zagreb.<\/p>\n

New work for five dancers by a choreographer Marjana Kraja\u010d <\/span>invites you on a journey of movement, time and space, entering gradually in to the layers of dance\u2019s rich texture. Intensive, meditative and purifying experience of waching is forming specific elasticity of time and meaning.<\/p>\n

In her last works, Marjana Kraja\u010d embarked on a complex mission of revoking the very substance of a dance medium, exposing its own ontology and deconstructed historicity. <\/span>This monumental\u00a0durational work articulates the arrival of\u00a0a historic modernism\u00a0in to the dance medium, and how was dance, as we understand it today, shaped by that and in what way.<\/p>\n

In such framework of artistic focus, Marjana Kraja\u010d and five dancers<\/span> are asking relevant questions of metaphysical commitments and added meanings of the performative body.<\/p>\n

Performance is accompanied by a booklet containing a text of the French philosopher\u00a0Jacques Ranci\u00e8re,\u00a0titled “Moment of Dance”.<\/p>\n

The experience is rounded by the minimalist durational\u00a0piano composition from 1959\u00a0of American composer Dennis Johnson titled “November”. A composition was lost and not available over 50 years until the pianist R. Andrew Lee manage to reconstruct it and released in 2013.<\/p>\n

Duration: 150 minutes (two and a half hours), no intermission.
