We invite you to the projection of the film\u00a0The Other from the Last Days<\/em><\/strong> on Saturday, April 6, 2019, in the HDLU Home Club starting at 4 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inspired by the satirical play \u201cThe Last Days of Mankind\u201d by Karl Kraus. First World War, Austria.<\/p>\n

The Other from the Last Days<\/em><\/strong> is a sort of punk\/jazz improvisation on very structured themes taken from the work of Kraus.<\/p>\n

The economic interests that create the current wars are the same ones identified by Kraus for the First World War.<\/p>\n

The authors, the actor Andrea Neami, the director Giovanni Pianigiani and the video artist Davide Skerlj have identified two archetypal characters: the Optimist and the Pessimist, interpreted by a single actor. Through a structure in chapters it analyzes the different sides of the issue, between loyalty to Kraus’ script and experimental and performative drifts.<\/p>\n

After a century from the Great War, territories and people that once were enemies are now neighboring countries, no longer on opposite sides, but united in the common European house.<\/p>\n

The film wish to contribute to the creation of a collective memory among the people of Europe. The dynamic use of camera, the switching between external and internal scenes, and the insertion of original historical shooting create a subtle sense of disorientation in the viewer.<\/p>\n

The movie has been presented in Italy in Trieste, and in Rome at the MACRO (Contemporary Art Museum of Rome).<\/p>\n
