On Tuesday, 7.5.2024. Andrea Knezovi\u0107<\/strong> opens her solo exhibition entitled Transmission<\/strong>, at 7 pm in Karas Gallery<\/strong> (Ulica kralja Zvonimira 58).<\/p>\n

In her foreword, Katarina Podobnik<\/strong> emphasizes:<\/p>\n

With the art installation “Transmission” as a speculative design, Knezovi\u0107 creates a world in which artificial intelligence imposes itself as a pseudo-divine entity, and the place of worship becomes (or remains) both materialised and digital \u2013 an AI altar. Alongside the physical presence of characteristic liturgical ornaments, the artistic ambience consists of three central components \u2013 three monitors symbolising the united Holy Trinity. Each of the latter shows a video based on generative language models and a text-to-speech system, replicating traditional ritual elements within the framework of the new – \u201cAI religion\u201d.<\/p>\n

Biography<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Andrea Knezovi\u0107 is a multimedia artist born in 1992 in Slavonski Brod. In 2014, she completed her undergraduate studies, and in 2017, her graduate studies in multimedia at the Academy of Arts in Osijek under the mentorship of Vladimir Frelih.
\nSo far, she has had six solo exhibitions and participated in dozens of group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists – HDLU Istok. She lives and works in Rijeka.
\nAndrea\u2019s earlier works explore the relationship between mass media society and fetishism and ritual, where the artist, through the portrayal of her own body, plays with traditional representations of female identity. In her recent works, Andrea explores the impact of technology and media on society and individuals using experimental research practices.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will be open during the period from 7. to 28.5.2024.<\/strong>

\nTuesday, Saturday 10am \u2013 1pm
