The Frans Masereel Centre (FMC) is a place where national and inter¬national artists, researchers and graphic designers reside, meet and experiment.
The Frans Masereel Centre is a Flemish centre for Graphic Art started in 1972. It offers a residency and workplace to graphic designers, artists, critics and curators who want to work within the printmaking medium; Intaglio, relief printing, screen print or lithography, or who want to investigate the relationship of graphics with other visual arts. The centre focuses mainly on creation rather than on reproduction, in regard of the meeting place that it wants to be, a platform for the public, the artist and his work.
Our technical staff give the necessary support and technical advice and there is a weekly meeting among artist residents. The centre organizes different graphic projects; exhibitions, open portfolio sessions, to print related presentations, etc. As such it wants to stimulate new graphic practices or facilitate other to print related media.
